Imagine going into your garage, driveway or yard and pulling out your tools and proceeding to repair or maintain your bike. Being your own mechanic / technician is not as hard as it seems with a little help from an instructor. This way you can stay on top of things, instead of being blind sided by a break down. Get it done faster, cheaper by doing-it-yourself. What you will learn in class can be applied to Honda, Harley, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Aprilia, Vespa scooters, BMW, Ducati, Yamaha, ATV Quads and yes Chinese scooters. . Class size is limited, so don’t wait till the last minute. Email me for more info. I have been a powersport technician for over 18 years and have worked at several dealerships as a line technician, service manager and instructor. I have been teaching this class for end users for over 3 years. Past student references provided on request.

I’m conducting a 5 week course that covers the main fundamentals of motorcycle maintenance and repair. Its a front to rear wheel approach where we take a journey through all the systems that comprise a motorcycle. It is a hands-on-course and not just theory. Theory will be thoroughly discussed and broken down in laymans terms so that everyone will understand. We will be working from text books, handouts, lectures and lab. One of the most important things that you’ll learn is how to analyze faults and how to approach the problem. One of the most important skillsets, is tracing through the fault tree, because there can be multiple problems and you have to learn to isolate them. You will also learn good work practices so you don’t get lost and end up with a bunch parts that you can’t remember where they go. You will learn to work with specialized tools, how to identify parts using parts fiche.

You will also use your new skills to help you evaluate some of the candidates you chosen for possible purchase from this list and others. Just because it starts and runs doesn’t mean it is in good order. What you ultimately pay for a bike is not what you hand to the seller but also to the parts and service department at the dealer. Unless you can fix it yourself and know how to bargain in good faith.
Friends and family discounts available when two or more register for the class. This includes clubs as well

Classes are held in El Segundo south of LAX at Sepulveda and Maple Ave.

Don’t worry if you can’t make every weekend as you can make up any class you miss at a future date. Classes are taught every 5 weeks and are standalone workshops that don’t require the previous class to understand. Past student references provided on request.
